GALION, OH – The Mount Gilead Indians traveled to “The Jungle” in Galion to do battle with the Tigers in non-conference action on Friday night. With a whopping 23-point performance by Senior Cooper Kent and two tigers getting into double figures, the Galion Tigers defeated the Mount Gilead Indians with a final score of 67-51. Galion’s offense was led by Senior Cooper Kent with 23 points, including 3 three-pointers. Senior Steven Glew would add in 14 of his own and Senior Elijah Chafin contributed with 12. Mount Gilead was led by Junior Rowan Fitzpatrick with 11 points and Junior Cameron Vickers would contribute 10 points in the losing effort. UP NEXT:The Galion Tigers (11-11, 6-7 MOAC) will now turn their attention to tournament play as they welcome in the Clear Fork Colts (10-12, 5-9 MOAC) on Tuesday, Feb. 27 with tip-off set to commence at 7 p.m.The Mount Gilead Indians (6-16, 3-9 KMAC) will be back on the road to start their tournament run as they will travel to Richwood to take on the North Union Wildcats (17-5, 10-3 Central Buckeye) on the same day at the same time at North Union High School.
