BELLVILLE, OH- The Clear Fork softball team stands at 13-7 in all games and is undefeated in the MOAC at 8-0. Head Coach Jeff Gottfried says his team has become consistent. “Well I think we are getting production throughout the lineup I think our kids have had better focus too on the defensive side of the ball we have made some errors but when it got to crunch time and we had to buckle down and make some quality pitches Ashtynn Roberts has done a great job and Maddison Dion has pitched well she had to do it last night Aashtynn didn’t have her best game so we pulled her after three innings and Maddie went the last three and pitched very well for us so I just think as a whole as a unit kids are starting to really believe in each other and doing some things well. “I think the biggest difference between us and our competition is just our energy,” said junior Trinity Cook. We also have such good energy that I think that it puts us ahead of our opponents even teams that are as skilled as us. I feel like our energy just really brings us a whole level ahead I feel like we have made some changes at the beginning of the season we didn’t know where to put people because of the pandemic, but I think we have settled in and figured out how good we are.”I think our communication and team chemistry has improved,” said senior Hallie Gottfried. Getting big wins against Ontario and against Pleasant that was really good.” The Colts are 8-0 in the MOAC and are sitting in a prime position to win the MOAC. The Colts will take on Marion Harding twice next week. “It’s tough it’s a grind every single night you will get the other teams best every single night, we got River Valley we had them in our second week the season in the first week in the MOAC and they have not lost since they have been playing well but we are past them and we then we got through the tough test with Ontario we beat them twice and Pleasant twice this week so we are in a good position with four games to go, but our kids are still looking at it one game at a time and that is our focus next week with Marion Harding.
