The Mansfield Board of Education Tuesday night adopted a new student handbook.

It will allow teachers and administrators more freedom when it comes to making decisions on the discipline of students.

In other business, the board also reached an agreement between the school district and The Ohio State University-Mansfield on a literacy collaborative that will enable them to work with younger students.
